We’ve been there. We know how to help.

Are you struggling with chronic symptoms and inflammation?

  • Obesity and weight issues?
  • IBS, GERD, or heartburn?
  • Fibromyalgia or chronic pain?
  • Thyroid disorders?
  • Diabetes or Metabolic Syndrome?
  • Depression and/or anxiety?
  • Eczema, psoriasis or other skin rashes?
  • Autoimmune diseases?
  • Hormonal imbalances?

Are You Tired of Conventional Healthcare?

  • Are you tired of being told you’re fine because your labs are “normal”?
  • Are you tired of seeing one doctor after another and not getting better?
  • Are you tired of being told “you’re just getting older”?
  • Are you tired of all the pills?

It’s time for a new strategy.

Get to the Root Cause with Functional Medicine

Every symptom has a cause. And that cause is NOT a pill deficiency! Our clients resolve chronic issues and get off medications.

In conventional medicine, a visit to the doctor’s office is generally centered around answering the question, “What does this patient have?” Once a diagnosis is determined, a treatment plan (a prescription) is determined based on the diagnosis. We focus on answering the question “Why does this patient have these symptoms?” Or in other words, “What is the root cause?”

We identify both the imbalances within the body (hormonal, thyroid, mitochondrial (energy), immune (inflammation), microbial, nutrient deficiencies, etc.), AND the likely insults or causes contributing to these imbalances (stressors, environmental and toxin exposures, diet and nutrient status, exercise, sleep quality, mental, emotional, spiritual health, etc.). From there, we are able to provide highly personalized and targeted treatment options for our clients so they can go beyond managing symptoms and finally heal.

Give us two months and we can change your life!

  • Our medical investigation and clinical implementation process is what sets us apart from other Functional Medicine clinics. Experience matters.
  • You need an MD who has seen it all to do your medical investigation and design your care plan. Experience matters. Dr. Beard has worn many hats in the healthcare arena–dietitian, ER physician, Family Medicine doctor, Cardiac Rehab Medical Director, psychiatric medical support, and Certified Functional Medicine practitioner who has been practicing Functional Medicine for over a decade. She also has had her own extremely complicated health history. You need this level of experienced Functional Medicine MD investigating your case and looking after you.
  • You also need experienced Functional Medicine RNs to implement and consult with you through the entire process. There are many moving parts to Functional Medicine that take time to implement and teach. Our Functional Medicine nurses have the knowledge and experience you need to be successful in your health journey.

We Work with the Whole Family, from Your Home!

In addition to her certification in Functional Medicine, Dr. Beard is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and a dietitian. She is equipped to work with patients in every stage of life; from fertility to pregnancy to infants, children, adults and seniors.

While most of our clients are adults, we see exceptional results with children and love working with them. Additionally, Dr. Kinard and our health coaches are mothers experienced in practicing the principles of Functional Medicine from pregnancy through childhood.

Jump In and Become a Client

Step 1 – Schedule a free 15 minute Exploratory Call

Schedule a free 15 minute Exploratory Call with our patient liaison to make sure we are a good fit for your care and learn about how our functional medicine clinic operates. After your Exploratory Call, you will be sent a link to schedule your First Step Appointment either with Dr. Beard or Dr. Kinard. Regardless of who you see, Dr. Beard always oversees all cases in our practice.

Step 2 – Schedule a first step medical investigation.

Schedule a first step appointment with a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner ($300).

Step 3 – Invest in the recommended 2 month package.

Why a two month package? We can help you make substantial improvements to your health in that amount of time. Many patients see complete resolution of their issues and most see substantial improvements by the end of two months. At the end of the two months you will be left with a detailed plan to either continue on your own or with guidance from the appropriate member(s) of our team. One of our main goals during this two month timeframe is to empower you with the knowledge to take charge of your health.

Dr. Beard will guide you to the proper package that will best meet your medical needs and financial ability. There is no one-size-fits-all plan; we customize your treatment plan for your unique needs.

What to expect at your first step medical investigation:

An in-depth medical investigation

with an experienced medical doctor who leaves no stone unturned.

A medical, lifestyle and symptom timeline

from birth to present.

Evaluation and assessment

of medication side effects, surgical & procedural impacts

In-depth evaluation

of diet and nutrient intake, gut health, toxin exposures and toxic burden, sleep hygiene and quality, sun exposure and biological rhythms, movement and exercise, mitochondrial function, nervous system status, detox and drainage status.

Discussion of next step

(may include but not limited to): specialty and standard lab testing, protocols, medication weaning and changes, supplement changes, referrals to other specialists (biological dentists, for example)

Plenty of time

for concerns and questions to be addressed.

2 Month Treatment Packages:

Option 1:

First Step medical investigation + four RN functional medicine practitioner visits
$975

At the end of two months you will be provided with a care plan to continue on your own or with the help of the appropriate clinic member.

Option:2

First Step medical investigation + four RN functional medicine practitioner visits with Dr. Beard’s oversight $1375

This is the most cost effective way to involve Dr. Beard in your care. Dr. Beard and your RN practitioner meet frequently to discuss your case and direct your care as warranted.

At the end of the two months you will be provided with a care plan to continue on your own or with the help of the appropriate clinic member.

Additional Costs & Options:

  • 30-minute appointments with Dr. Beard can be added at anytime for $250
  • 40-minute appointments with RN Functional Medicine Practitioner (outside of 2 month package) $125
  • Specialty and standard labs: we do not mark up the cost of labs in an effort to save you money. Dr. Beard takes a conservative approach to ordering labs, but also understands their importance in certain clinical situations.
    $50-$300 per test panel
  • Protocols: many patients are prescribed protocols during their two month treatment plan according to their needs. $300-$600 per protocol

We try VERY hard to keep our services affordable. Even though Dr. Beard is one of the most credentialed and experienced functional medicine doctors in the country, she charges less because this is her personal ministry.

More Information

Where are you located?

We are 100% ONLINE. We meet with patients via video consultations. Our patients appreciate the convenience, efficiency and flexibility of our virtual visits. No more commute, no more waiting rooms, and you can keep us even if you move!

For out-of-state clients who wish to establish long-term care with Dr. Beard, we recommend a one-time, in-person visit in or around Little Rock, Arkansas.

How much does it cost to be a patient?

Dr. Beard has made it her ministry to make Functional Medicine more affordable and accessible. Even though her credentials are among the top tier of all Functional Medicine Physicians nationwide, she has chosen to charge much less than she could. Her first appointment is $300 compared to over $1000 with many other comparably credentialed clinics. And she never upcharges labs, which can save you hundreds, sometimes over a thousand dollars.

With that said, this is still a major investment since it is not covered by insurance. But this is an investment. Solving the root causes of your health issues instead of masking symptoms will save you money over the long run and greatly improve the quality of your life.

While cost varies from client to client, most of our clients spend $1,800- $3,000 with us over the course of six months, including the cost of visits, supplementation, and labs. Clients with complex conditions requiring longer-term support, multiple specialty labs, and advanced protocols may spend more over time.

Do you accept insurance?

Our practice is insurance free. Every dollar goes to your care, nothing is lost in the third party payer system. We know it can be disappointing that we won’t accept your insurance, many of our clients felt the same way at first. Now they enjoy the peace of mind knowing exactly what their care will cost upfront. They also get exactly what they need as they are not limited by what insurance says they need or don’t need.

Many health savings accounts will cover our consultation fees and services. You may use your HSA or FSA for any of our services.

Can I use my HSA or FSA for your services?

Yes, however each HSA and FSA has different requirements for reimbursement. Please discuss requirements with them in advance. We do not provide additional documentation beyond receipts.

I am interested in becoming a patient, where do I start?

Book a free Exploratory Call using this link: https://amybeardmdscheduling.as.me/freeexploratorycall

Can your clinic be my primary care provider?

Unfortunately, no. We are an extension of your current health team. We encourage all of our patients to have a PCP.

Do you work with my current health care providers? Do you review my records from other providers?

We are happy to share our health records with other providers of your healthcare team upon your request. You can also release your medical records from other doctors/ clinics/ hospitals for our clinic to review. Please discuss which records are appropriate to send during your exploratory call or initial consultation.

How is your staff trained in Functional Medicine?

Dr. Beard is a certified Functional Medicine Practitioner with the Institute for Functional Medicine. She is also a Board Certified Medical Doctor in Family Medicine and is a Dietician. She is an experienced ER physician and Cardiac Rehab Medical Director.

Dr. Kinard is a certified Functional Medicine Practitioner with the Institute of Functional Medicine. She is a Nurse Practitioner (Doctorate in Nursing). All of our coaches have advanced degrees in health-related fields and are certified health coaches in Functional Medicine or Integrative Nutrition.

Every member of our staff is closely mentored by Dr. Beard and reviews every case with her regularly.

Can I get a recorded copy of my appointment?

Yes! We encourage it. Just hit the “record” button at the bottom of your Zoom screen and the meeting will be saved as a MP4 file on your desktop.  We can help you with this feature during your appointment.

Where do I go to have my labs drawn? And how much do they cost?

We currently utilize LabCorp and Quest draw sites for standard labs. We also use a variety of companies for specialty labs that ship kits directly to you, to be completed at home and shipped back.

You might be pleasantly surprised by the cost of our labs as they are not inflated by insurance companies or marked up by a clinic.

Our team will work with you to determine which tests will provide the most valuable information for the case. We always strive to avoid unnecessary testing. With that said we have access to every lab available and if you request a lab to be performed we will always accommodate your request. Lab testing costs can vary greatly between clients. The range for standard labs is typically $80-150 (cash pricing). Specialty lab kits and panels can range from $200-$400, and sometimes these tests will need to be repeated to monitor progress.

What is your cancellation policy?

Visits may be canceled or rescheduled anytime up to 72 hours prior to your appointment. Cancellation and rescheduling requests occurring less than 72 prior to your scheduled visit will result in a charge of half the cost of the scheduled visit.
