Where are you located?
We are 100% ONLINE. We meet with patients via video consultations. Our patients appreciate the convenience, efficiency and flexibility of our virtual visits. No more commute, no more waiting rooms, and you can keep us even if you move!
What do you treat?
All symptoms and diseases have a cause(s). The Functional Medicine approach is designed to uncover and address the cause(s). Our team looks beyond your signs and symptoms to identify the fundamental imbalances in your body and what might be causing those imbalances. For this reason, Functional Medicine can be beneficial to anyone, whatever your diagnosis. We still highly recommend that patients have an established PCP for acute issues that may arise and for procedures and imagining studies that may need to be ordered when insurance is needed.
Conditions we treat include: Acne, Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia, Arthritis, Asthma, Autism, Spectrum Disorder, ADD, ADHD, Autoimmune Diseases, Cancer Prevention, Chronic Fatigue, Chronic Sinusitis, Depression and Anxiety, Detoxification and Healing, Diabetes, Digestive Disorders (IBD, IBS, GERD/Reflux), Eczema/Psoriasis, Elevated Cholesterol, Environmental and Food Allergies, Fatigue, Female Disorders (PMS, Menopause, Infertility, PCOS), Fibromyalgia, Fluoroquinolone Toxicity, Healthy Aging, Healthy Weight and Metabolism, Heart Health, Hormone Balance, Interstitial Cystitis, Low Testosterone, Mercury and Heavy Metal Toxicity, Metabolic Syndrome, Pre-Diabetes, Insulin Resistance, Migraines and Headaches, Multiple Sclerosis, Obesity, Osteoporosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Restless Leg Syndrome, Sleep/Insomnia, Thyroid and Adrenal Disorders.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance for our consultations, nor can clients bill insurance independently. Due to the current insurance model, there are no appropriate codes for reimbursement of our services. However, many health savings accounts will cover our consultation fees and services.
Can I file insurance on my own for your online appointments?
No. There are no supporting codes for our virtual visits.
Can I use my HSA or FSA for your services?
Can your clinic be my primary care provider?
Unfortunately, no. We are an extension of your current health team. We encourage all of our patients to have a PCP.
Do you work with my current health care providers?
We are happy to share our health records with other providers of your healthcare team upon your request.
Can I release my medical records from other doctors/clinics/hospitals for your clinic to review?
Yes. Please discuss which records are appropriate to send with your consultant at your initial consult.
How is your staff trained in Functional Medicine?
Dr. Beard is a certified Functional Medicine Practitioner with the Institute for Functional Medicine. She is also Board Certified in Family Medicine and is a Dietician. Every member of our staff is mentored by Dr. Beard and our consultants and clinicians are either certified or working on their certification in Functional and/or Integrative health.
What is considered good meeting etiquette?
Please make sure that you are in a quiet and comfortable area, have your questions written down and ready, and a pen and paper for notes. All Zoom meetings have the ability to be recorded which eliminates the need to take notes. Your consultant can instruct you on how to record your meeting.
Can I get a recorded copy of my appointment?
Yes! We encourage it. Just hit the “record” button at the bottom of your Zoom screen and the meeting will be saved as a MP4 file on your desktop. No need to take notes! Your consultant can help you with this feature.
Where do I go to have my labs drawn?
We currently utilize LabCorp draw sites for standard labs. We also use a variety of companies for specialty labs that ship kits directly to you.
How do I order supplements?
Your Care Plan will outline our supplement recommendations. Any of the supplement products we recommend can be ordered either on our website or via our online dispensary, Fullscript.com. Dr. Beard has vetted the best brands, and she offers these brands at rates that are less than you can find anywhere else.
What is your cancellation policy?
Visits may be cancelled or rescheduled anytime up to 72 hours prior to your appointment. Cancellation and rescheduling requests occurring less than 72 priors prior to your scheduled visit will result in a charge of half the cost of the scheduled visit.
